John A. Thomas

President

John is the founding President of M-Star CFD, overseeing all client support and engagement. Prior to M-Star, John was a research professor at Johns Hopkins University. He holds a PhD from Carnegie Mellon University and an MBA from Georgetown University.

Kevin Smith

VP, Director of Software Development

Kevin is a founder of M-Star CFD, and he oversees all software integration and deployment. Prior to M-Star, Kevin held positions at Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory and DRS Defense Solutions. He holds an MS from Penn State University and a BS from Drexel University.

Brian Devincentis

Lead Algorithm Developer

Brian focuses on core algorithm development and optimization. Prior to M-Star, Brian was a Senior Research Scientist at Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory. He holds an MS and BS from Carnegie Mellon University.

Eric Janz

Senior support engineer

Eric specializes in simulation support and validation at M-Star. Prior to M-Star, Eric held research and faculty roles at the University of Dayton and led new product development at National Oilwell Varco and Chemineer. He holds an MS and BS in Chemical Engineering from the University of Dayton and is a licensed Professional Engineer in Ohio.

Amber Larson

technical communications specialist

Amber leads technical writing and content management. She oversees the company’s website, social media, and educational webinars. Prior to M-Star, Amber worked as a copyeditor, translator, and teacher. She holds a BA from Brigham Young University and a Copyediting Certificate from UC San Diego.
